Public Consultation
Bring those most impacted closer to the decision-making process
Meaningful Public Engagement
Public consultation differs from traditional public opinion research in that it opens the doors wide to feedback from stakeholders who are affected by policies and decisions. But using consultative approaches – as opposed to a traditional random sample survey – does not mean decision-makers have to forgo methodological rigour. Our experienced team provides sound guidance and interpretation of consultation results: we understand who’s at the table, which perspectives may be underrepresented, and how to make sense of what you’re hearing – all as we create a safe and welcoming space for any stakeholder who wants their feedback to be considered.
01
Genuine Inclusivity
Environics Research takes the responsibility for inclusive engagement seriously and we have the capabilities to deliver. There is no such thing as “one size fits all” when reaching out to engage with the public – especially when connecting with stakeholder groups who are typically underrepresented in consultation processes.
02
Methodological Rigour
Consulting with the public doesn’t have to mean settling for hearing from “the usual suspects.” We help you reach beyond traditional voices, collecting data and information that help you put the feedback you received into context by taking into account who did – and did not – come to the table. Based on your consultation objectives – and the audiences you aim to include – we will help you choose and apply the best tools to facilitate meaningful exchanges.
03
Objective-Driven Design
Our team works with clients to clearly define project objectives, to rigorously identify and map the stakeholder universe, and to select the most appropriate engagement tools and approaches to produce meaningful consultation opportunities and insights.
