News Release – May 2025
Environics Research is proud to have supported the launch of the 2025 Changemaker Wellbeing Index — the most comprehensive and representative study of non-profit workers’ wellbeing ever conducted in Canada. Commissioned by Future of Good, with research design by Common Good Strategies, this groundbreaking initiative provides evidence-based insights into the experiences of over 1,100 professionals from across the country. Environics was responsible for executing the national data collection, leveraging our robust panel methodologies to ensure that participants represented the full diversity of the sector.
This landmark research fills a longstanding gap in Canada’s social impact ecosystem by surfacing the realities facing the people who power it — including high levels of burnout, financial insecurity and food insecurity. Yet amid these challenges, the Index also reveals remarkable commitment and purpose-driven resilience. As a trusted research partner, Environics is honoured to play a role in elevating these voices and enabling data-informed decisions that will help strengthen recruitment, retention and organizational culture across the sector. The Changemaker Wellbeing Index sets a new benchmark for how we understand and support those who dedicate their careers to creating positive change.
Canada’s non-profit sector is at the precipice of ‘a great rebalancing’ between its push for purpose and its promise of wellbeing, and the Changemaker Wellbeing Index helps you and your team navigate this momentous shift.
