The Globe & Mail: Energy Infrastructure Backed

Our latest national survey indicates that Canadians are looking for a balanced approach to energy development.

New Poll reveals strong support for a balanced energy policy

Half of Canadians want both conventional and clean energy projects to be prioritized (rather than one or the other), and a large majority support investment in clean technology. Most also see recent changes to federal approval timelines as a way to improve efficiency without compromising environmental standards.

Prime Minister Carney’s energy agenda is resonating with Canadians because it is offering them something they have long wanted: advancing our economy while also protecting our environment.

This study, which featured in The Globe and Mail, shows that almost three-quarters of Canadians support building new oil pipelines to the West or East Coast. Notably, support extends across regions, including Quebec, where public opinion has historically been more resistant to oil infrastructure. These results suggest growing alignment with the federal government’s strategy to expand energy infrastructure alongside broader economic priorities.
