Reflecting on Toronto Climate Week 2026
Toronto hosted its official Climate Week, a seven-day event from June 1st-7th, that brought together climate leaders, policymakers, communicators, and engaged citizens for a series of discussions, workshops, and events focused on advancing climate action.
As the official Research Insights Partner, Environics Research supported TOCW by:
In addition to leading the research initiative, Sarah Roberton, Senior Vice-President, Corporate and Public Affairs, participated in several key conversations throughout the week. At the Official Kick-Off event, she joined a panel moderated by Orchestra Marketing’s Jocelyn Butler to explore whether climate action needs a “rebrand” and how climate-related language shapes public perceptions. She also participated in the Marketing, Communications and Media flagship event alongside the City of Toronto’s Sarah Rodrigues, discussing the evolution of municipal climate communications and the role of effective engagement in advancing policy objectives.
During the same flagship event, Susan Seto, Senior Vice-President, Market Strategy, and Michele Cunningham, Vice-President, Strategy and Insights, facilitated an interactive workshop focused on reaching the “climate persuadables,” individuals who support climate action in principle but do not yet see its relevance to their daily lives.
While climate discussions are often focused on urgency and challenge, Toronto Climate Week highlighted the breadth of work, innovation, and collaboration taking place across sectors. The week created space for thoughtful dialogue and knowledge-sharing, reinforcing the value of bringing diverse perspectives together to help produce practical action.
We were honoured to contribute to the 2026 event. As climate action moves from ambition to implementation, understanding public attitudes will remain essential. We look forward to contributing to that work.
